make the compliance process faster.
What sort of documents required for vehicle compliance?
For both used and parallel-imported new vehicles you can present an original Japanese export or completion
inspection certificate showing one of the applicable emissions code character sets (in the table below) at
the beginning of the industry model code. See examples of the certificate below.(the industry model code
including the emission codes are circled in red).
Note:-Alternatively, a statement of compliance that includes an approved emission standard is acceptable
proof that your vehicle meets New Zealand requirements.
Vehicle may need furthermore, documents if you import vehicle from any other country. Please contact us
and advise us where you have imported the vehicle from. So, we can explain you what sort of documents we
will need to get the vehicle compliance.
What documents we need Re-Register a Vehicle In NEW ZEALAND?
If your vehicle’s registration has been cancelled in NZ and you want to use the vehicle on the road again,
you need to register it again, which includes vehicle compliance.
You need to take proof that it has been registered in New Zealand before, and that you’re the person
entitled to register it again now.
* PROOF OF OWNERSHIP* can be old registration papers, or documentation that show the vehicle’s
identification number (VIN) or chassis number, such as an old Certificate of registration.
We, the certifier will need to be satisfied that the documents demonstrate that the vehicle, when
originally registered, was designed and constructed according to the requirements applying at that time.
What if my vehicle has been in an accident?
If your vehicle has been in an accident before you imported or requires accident repairs, then we will
need to engage a Repair Certifier to create a Repair Certificate. This repair certificate will be used in
conjunction with our Entry Certificate to assure the previous or repairs required are carried out as per
manufacturer guidelines.
If a Repair Certificate is required then we can assist you through this process.
NOTE: there are additional costs for this Certificate. Speak to our staff to know more.
